Leadership takes on the month of love!
Getting 2026 into full speed, our entire progam put our heads together to make our current events better and to brainstorm even more. With the Winter, and arguably the hardest part of the school year for spirit and morale, in swing, it was important to us to start bringing joy to the student body and our community.

The third-quarter committees in fifth period consist of:

International Week (Caroline Rose and committee)
JIVES (Mica Podoly and committee)
Blood Drive (Avery Williams, Isabelle Habibi, and committee)
M-A Rockstars (Lucy Gostyla, Gaelen Booth, and committee)
First, let's look at our committees that prepped for future events, just a few being Prom, International Week, JIVES, Blood Drive, and V-Day. They worked hard every class period to make sure that their events, occurring in February or March, were going to be amazing. Blood Drive worked on getting sign-ups for the day of the drive in February, Prom visited our venue for this April, International Week and JIVES worked on their outreach, and almost every committee was working on something for the future as well.
And now, on to the January events!
Lunchtime Events this quarter got to work almost immediately. With Liri Maoz and Andrea Valencia at the lead, they kicked off our January events with a Minute to Win It event on the 21st, and closely followed it with Chocolate Day on the 23rd. Both events were a huge hit--cheap or free treats being available always brings lots of joy to the lunchtime areas.
The March Madness Committee worked in partnership with Ms. Price and Ms. Soto to put on our annual ILS and Varsity Basketball Game. There was a huge turnout this year, with full stands overflowing into standing room. It was a very heartwarming event, and it was fun for both the players and the audience to watch our students play a lighthearted game. Both the boys' and girls' Varsity Basketball teams blended with the students in our ILS program. Huge thanks to everyone who participated and made this game possible.
Again, we thank everyone who made the CFD possible, and we can't wait for next year. Get ready for our amazing third-quarter committees and events. Happy Holidays, Bears!
